Staycaying here this week. Quiet luxury, not a party hotel — the kind of UAE weekend that actually feels like a break. I’ll say on the Reel whether I’d book it again. We paid for this stay.

When we go out and the air still hurts your face, I want fabric that does not cling. I shop linen sets like this on Amazon.ae — wide-leg, light colour, something I can sit down in. Pick the shade that looks like you, not the grid.

The SPF that survives humidity

Beauty over 40 in this heat: if it pills or melts, it’s out. I keep La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 on the bathroom shelf. Fragrance-free, sits under cream blush, does not sting my eyes on a walk to the car.

Getting ready

Cream blush that does not melt

Powder blush turns patchy here by lunch. Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable in Nearly Apricot is the one I still use — a finger tap, no glam room. If that shade is gone, any warm apricot cream blush in the same line is the idea.

What's in my bag

Small bag for dinner

What actually goes in: lip, card, SPF, phone. I like a structured mini with a strap I can drop — JW PEI’s Elise in beige is the shape. Not a haul, just the bag that stops me carrying a tote to dinner.

Packing cubes for a two-night staycay

I do not fold a whole wardrobe for RAK. Cubes for the dress, the swim bit, and a tiny wash bag. This set is the cheap version that actually zips. I use beige; pink is the listing Amazon has in stock.
